In the heart of Dodiciville, in Bolzano, the renovation project of Alperia's historic headquarters is evolving as an interplay of relationships: between past and future, between architecture and urban landscape, between innovation and sustainability. The new project transforms the historic building into a new space for dialogue between the urban environment and the surrounding nature, through simple architectural forms and materials that reflect the area.
The new 11-meter-high triple-glazed façade, with seven-meter-high single-pane glass windows, discreetly integrates into the context and forms a counterpoint to the historic wings from the 19th century. A transparent skin that breathes, where light is reflected and modulated, filtered by low-emission glass that reduces energy consumption. "We wanted to create an architecture that connects with the urban landscape and places sustainability at its core," explains architect Marco Sette. The interplay of surfaces and materials such as wood and local stone accompanies the interior and creates continuity between outside and inside, resulting in an elegant and functional environment, in line with Alperia's philosophy.

Inside, the project unfolds as a visual and functional realisation. The large windows tell the story of the connection to the territory, featuring a suggestive image of an Alpine forest that recalls Alperia's roots in generating energy from renewable sources. "This transparency reflects our values: innovation and respect for the environment," says the representative of Alperia’s Procurement.

The core element of the project, the meeting room, is designed as a representative space that harmonises elegance and technology. Wood and stone engage in dialogue with integrated intelligent systems, where every detail—from Iroko wood surfaces to the adjustable transparency of the glazing—contributes to an environment that combines aesthetics, functionality, and the unique Italian "carbon-neutral" utility.
